For instance, my first name is Abiodun, which is my official name that appears on all my certificates.

2. Maiden Name: A maiden name refers to a person's family name (last name) before marriage, specifically for individuals who change their last name when they get married. It is the surname they had before taking their spouse's last name. For instance, my maiden name is Fakunle, my family's name before I got married.

3. Last Name (Surname): This is the family name, also known as the "surname" or "family name." It is typically passed down from generation to generation and is shared by family members. In Western cultures, it is the part of the name used in formal and legal contexts. For instance, my husband's surname is my new last name.

For instance, if a woman named Sarah Smith marries John Lawrence, her first name remains Sarah, her maiden name is Smith, and her new last name (if she chooses to change it) becomes Lawrence. So, her full name after marriage could be Sarah Lawrence, with "Sarah" being her first name, "Smith" her maiden name, and "Lawrence " her new last name.

It's important to note that naming conventions can vary between cultures and regions, and not everyone changes their last name upon marriage.
